How we work
G-MTW acts as the purchasing department for mining holdings and smelters sourcing from Latin America, Africa and MENA. We are not a broker passing offers along: we buy under a purchase mandate and follow the deal until the material reaches its destination.
Here is how a deal works with us, step by step.
01 · It starts with your proposal
The producer or trading company sends us its offer meeting the requirements we publish on this site and on our supplier portal: mineral, grade, moisture, penalty elements, quantity, Incoterm and port of loading.
No proposal, no site visit and no negotiation. This is where most time gets wasted in this industry: long conversations about material that was never actually specified. We start from the data.
02 · We assess feasibility and counter-offer
We check the material against our specification. If it complies, we reply with our counter-proposal: price with its discount table and terms.
Once both sides agree, a sale and purchase contract is drawn up. We travel to source — mine, warehouse or stockyard — only when the case calls for it, not as a formality.
03 · We coordinate the logistics
Logistics at origin are the seller’s responsibility, but we coordinate and organise the whole process and the documentation: booking, customs and certificates.
If the seller lacks export capacity or permits, we study workable alternatives. It is a more common situation than it looks and it does not have to kill the deal.
04 · We follow it to destination
Departure from the warehouse, vessel loading, voyage and arrival at destination, with documentary control across the supply chain to guarantee traceability.
Inspection is carried out by independent third parties: SGS, Alfred H. Knight or Bureau Veritas. We apply the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for minerals from conflict-affected areas, without exception.
